STATIC QR WORKSHOP
Free QR Code Generator
Make a QR code for a website, Wi-Fi network, contact card, email, phone call, text message, WhatsApp chat, map location, calendar event or plain text. Style it, check that it scans, and download PNG, SVG or PDF.
- No sign-up
- Never expires
- Runs in your browser
- PNG & vector SVG
How to make a QR code
- Pick the content type — URL, Text, Wi-Fi, vCard (contact), Email, Phone, SMS, WhatsApp, Location or Event — and fill in the form.
- Style it: start from a preset or set colours and gradients, module shape, the corner frames and centres, a logo in the centre, a frame and a short label such as “Scan me”.
- Watch the scan check. Each change is decoded again in your browser; a green tick means the code reads back exactly what you entered.
- Download a PNG (512, 1024 or 2048 px), a vector SVG, or a vector PDF at a set print width — or copy the image straight into a document.
Need many codes in the same style? The bulk QR code generator turns a list or CSV into up to 500 codes, as a ZIP or printable label sheets. To read an existing code from a photo or screenshot, use the QR code scanner. Codes you download are listed under “Recent codes” on this device, so you can reopen them later.
What each type does when scanned
| Type | What the phone does |
|---|---|
| URL | Offers to open the web page. |
| Wi-Fi | Offers to join the network without typing the password. |
| vCard | Offers to save the contact: name, company, phones, email, website and address. |
| Opens a new email with the address, subject and message filled in. | |
| Text | Shows the text. |
| Phone | Offers to call the number. |
| SMS | Opens a new text message with the number and message filled in. |
| Opens a WhatsApp chat, optionally with a message ready to send. | |
| Location | Opens a map with a pin at the coordinates. |
| Event | Offers to add the event to the calendar. |
| Pix | Opens a Pix payment to your key in a Brazilian banking app. |
| SEPA transfer (EPC / GiroCode) | Fills in a SEPA transfer with your IBAN, amount and reference in banking apps that support it. |
Static codes: nothing to expire
Every code made here is a static code. Whatever you type — the link, the Wi-Fi password, the contact card — is written into the black and white pattern itself. A phone reads it straight from the image, so the code does not depend on this website, an account or a subscription. It works for as long as the print stays readable.
Many QR services push dynamic codes instead. A dynamic code holds a short link to the provider's server, which then forwards the visitor to your real page. That makes it possible to change the destination and count scans, but the code only works while the provider keeps that forward running. For example, the help centre of QR Code Generator (qr-code-generator.com) states that dynamic codes created during its free trial are deactivated when the trial ends and point to a service page instead of the original destination, while static codes keep working (checked 20 October 2026). If you need to edit a code after printing, a dynamic service is the right tool; if you don't, a static code avoids that dependency entirely.
Why the scan check matters
Colours, rounded modules and logos make a code look better, but each one takes away a little contrast or covers a little data. Instead of guessing, QR Meadow decodes the finished design at three sizes in your browser after every change. If any of them reads back your exact content you get a green tick; if not, you see a red cross and can undo the last change. It also warns about low contrast, light-on-dark colours, transparent backgrounds and oversized logos, which some phone cameras struggle with.
Printing tips
- Use the SVG or PDF for anything printed. Both are vector, so they stay sharp on a poster, a sticker or a business card.
- Size it for the scanning distance: at least 2 cm wide, and more for long distances or dense codes. The QR code size guide has the rules of thumb and a calculator.
- Keep the white border (the quiet zone) around the code. Trimming it is one of the most common reasons a printed code fails.
- Dark modules on a light background scan most reliably. If you choose brand colours, keep them strong and check the contrast warning.
- Short content makes a simpler code with bigger modules, which scans from further away. Use a short URL where you can.
- Before printing a full run, print one proof and scan it with two or three different phones from the distance people will actually stand.
Private by design
The page has no account system or advertising scripts. Cloudflare provides hosting and page performance analytics; the app does not send your QR content to this beacon. The code, the scan check and the downloads are all produced on your device, and a logo you add is read locally and never uploaded. Read the privacy page for details, or learn more about QR Meadow.
Questions
Do these QR codes expire?
No. The content is written into the code itself, so there is no link to a server that could be switched off. A code made here keeps working for as long as the printed image is readable.
Can I change the content after printing?
No. Codes that can be edited later ("dynamic" codes) point to a short link on someone else's server. This tool makes static codes only; to change the content, make a new code.
Is my data uploaded?
No. The code, the scan check and the downloads are made in your browser. Your logo is read on your device and never sent anywhere.
PNG, SVG or PDF?
SVG and PDF are vector and stay sharp at any size, so use them for print and for design tools; the PDF is saved at the print width you choose. PNG is easiest for documents, slides and websites; pick 2048 px for large prints.
Why did adding a logo change the error correction to H?
A logo covers part of the code. Level H can rebuild about 30% of damaged data, which leaves room for the logo. Keep the logo small if the code will be printed small or on rough material.
How big should I print it?
At least about 2 cm (0.8 in) wide, and roughly a tenth of the scanning distance, more for codes with a lot of content. Leave the white border (quiet zone) around the code and test-scan a printed proof. The QR code size guide explains the rules and has a calculator.
